The different functions of V T.O.M™
Use the bipolar coagulation or bipolar cutting current according to the surgical need
01 – Small cut (millimeter by millimeter): choice between 1 mm / 1.5 mm / 2 mm
Use the forceps in the closed position
The blade electrode must be positioned in the matrix as follows:
Perform a movement opposite to the blade with the entire forceps
No blade movement is necessary during this cut
Unlike a monopolar handle, the cutting depth is fully controlled and secure.
02 – Large cut (1 mm to 2 cm)
Use the pliers in the closed position
The blade electrode must be positioned in the matrix as follows:
Make a movement in the opposite direction to the matrix with the entire pliers
No blade movement is necessary during this cut
03 – Cut by grasping or at the opening (with the blade moving in the opposite direction)
The blade electrode must be positioned perpendicular to the matrix:
No movement of the pliers is necessary during this cut
The blade is in motion when closing or opening the pliers
04 – Fine cut by grasping or at the opening (with the blade moving in the opposite direction) opposite)
The blade electrode must be positioned perpendicular to the die:
No movement of the clamp is necessary during this cut
The blade is in motion when closing or opening the clamp
05 – Contact coagulation with closed forceps
Use the forceps in the closed position
The blade electrode must be positioned in the matrix as follows:
No movement of the forceps or the blade is necessary during this coagulation
Contact coagulation with closed forceps
Contact coagulation with closed forceps
Contact coagulation with closed forceps 2
Contact coagulation with closed forceps 2
06 – Contact coagulation with semi-open forceps (dedicated to large bleedings or for the use of irrigation with the Extra T.O.M™ device)
Use the forceps in the semi-open position
The blade electrode must be positioned perpendicular to the matrix:
No movement of the forceps or the blade is necessary during this coagulation
Contact coagulation with semi-open forceps
Contact coagulation with semi-open forceps
Contact coagulation with semi-open forceps 2
Contact coagulation with semi-open forceps 2
07 – Grasp coagulation
Use the forceps closed on the tissues
The blade electrode must be positioned flat on the matrix:
No movement of the forceps is necessary during this coagulation
Close the blade flat on the tissues
08 – Small lateral cut
Use the forceps in the closed position
The blade electrode must be positioned flat on the matrix:
Make a movement in the opposite direction to the cut with the entire forceps
The forceps must be positioned so that the edge of the blade is in contact with the tissues
No movement of the blade is necessary during this cut
09 – End cut
Use the forceps in the closed position
The blade electrode must be positioned flat on the matrix:
Place the forceps at 90° to the in the direction of the cut
Make a movement in the opposite direction to the cut with the entire pliers.
No blade movement is required during this cut
10 – Deep lateral cut
Use the clamp in the semi-open position
The blade electrode must be positioned parallel to the matrix:
Perform a movement in the opposite direction to the cut with the entire clamp
The clamp must be positioned so that the edge of the blade is in contact with the tissue
No blade movement is required during this cut
11 – Smoke extraction
Use the clamp in the semi-open position
Perform a movement in the opposite direction to the cut with the entire clamp
The clamp must be positioned so that the edge of the blade is in contact with the tissue
No blade movement is required during this cut
12 – Irrigation
Use the forceps in a semi-open position
Perform a movement in the opposite direction to the cut with the entire forceps
The forceps must be positioned so that the edge of the blade is in contact with the tissues
No blade movement is necessary during this cut
